workout recap: week of 04.24.11

It’s been a rough go of getting back into a routine since the half marathon on March 26.  Slowly but surely, I’m getting habits and routines back in place.

My goals for April 24 – 30 were:

  • running:  Actually do it! I’m shooting for 10-15 miles this week!
  • strength:  Continue with the 100 push up challenge, plus 1 upper body and 1 lower body session
  • yoga:  Practice 1-2 times

What actually happened was a bit off from what I wanted to happen.

I have mixed feelings about how this week went.  On one hand, considering how little I’ve actually done since the half marathon, this is definitely an improvement.  On the other hand, I know I could have done better.  It’s definitely easier said than done for me these days.

I hope it will be a bit easier now that I’ll be done with the latest house/dog sitting stint.  Once I go to the house after work to feed the dogs and let them out for a bit, I lose pretty much any and all motivation to get back outside.  Excuses?  Perhaps.

For this upcoming week, my biggest goal is to just be more active than last week, but beyond that:

  • running:  Let’s shoot for that 10-15 miles again this week, shall we?
  • racing:  I’m running the Tulip Time 10k on Saturday with a goal of 65 minutes.
  • strength:  3 sessions of the 100 push up challenge, 1 upper body, 1 lower body
  • yoga:  Practice 2 times
