work appropriate afternoon cure for a bad day.

Throughout the day, I kept having that feeling that wow, so-and-so is kind of cranky today.  After thinking this about a few different people, I had to stop and think that maybe, just maybe, it wasn’t the people around me that had the problem.  Perhaps it was actually me that was cranky.  It’s always easier to point the other direction rather than at yourself, but sometimes that’s what you do. Maybe it was the people around me, maybe it was me.  I’m not sure.  But, switching that perspective definitely made me think about my own attitude a bit more.

Whatever the case, I put my headphones on for awhile and drowned out the negativity with some Josh Groban.  Real Josh Groban, not funny Josh Groban singing Kanye West’s tweets.

In retrospect, this what I should have listened to.  On repeat.

I make awesome decisions in bike stores… Oh, Kanye.

I definitely tried to resist the Diet Coke/Milky Way craving, but it was stronger than my willpower.  It was the work appropriate afternoon cure for a bad day.

After work, I headed to the Y.  I started out running, moved to the elliptical, then back to running.  Random?  Yep.  In total, I did the elliptical for 1.5 miles in 16:46 and ran for 2.5 miles in 27:40 (11:04 pace).  It was definitely not the most quality workout ever, but it was better than the going home and doing nothing that I really wanted to do!  Oh, and I wrapped up with a some crunches and another day of the 100 push up challenge.  I’m up to 26 now!

Once I got home, I was ready to eat right then.  I will always be okay with cereal for dinner!  I had a Kashi three cereal blend of Toasted Berry Crumble, Honey Sunshine, and Honey Toasted Oat.

They all blended together quite nicely!  The Berry Crumble was a sample box and I’m glad I opened it because there were a bunch of coupons that expire at the end of the month!  I heart coupons!!

I showered, watched Jeopardy, and got ready to head downtown to meet up with my friend Ashley for a beer at my favorite brewery in town, Founders.  I haven’t seen her in a while (as in, a month or so!), but it was really great to catch up!  She’s such a dear friend.

And with that, I’m off to ready some more of The Hunger Games.  Yep, it’s true, I’m jumping on the bandwagon!
