winding down.

I’m happily enjoying my last day off work before heading back tomorrow!  The extended holiday vacation is quickly winding down!

I slept in this morning, skipping my planned trip to hot yoga.  Instead, I fought off the beginnings of a migraine.  Fortunately, it went away quite quickly and I’m feeling much better now!

Since I woke up late, I bypassed breakfast.  My sister, Kris, and I had lunch plans and we ended up going to the Olive Garden.  Yep, third day of the Eat in Month Challenge and I already ate out.  Honestly, my ultimate goal is to eat out much less than normal. I’d love to stick to the only one time a month, but I don’t know if that’s realistic.  One day at a time.

So for today, Olive Garden, it is.  I started with a bowl of minestrone.  There’s nothing quite like a hot bowl of soup on a cold winter day, no?

I had planned on getting the soup, salad, and breadsticks combo, but the ravioli di portabella caught my eye, particularly the sun dried tomato sauce.

It was absolutely delicious.  I used a breadstick to sop up every bit of sauce.  It was that good.  It was actually my second breadstick of the meal.  I had one with the soup, too.  I don’t know what they put on them, but they’re addicting.  Before I started eating better, I would eat four or five in a sitting!  Okay, sometimes, I’m still tempted to do that.

After lunch, we headed over to the mall for a bit.  How wonderful it was to not have the insane crowds!  The mall at the holidays is, I think, a slight preview of what hell must be like.  I worked retail one holiday season and that was more than enough for my liking!

Time to go do a little more relaxing!  I plan to soak up every second of this break I can!

What do they put on the breadsticks? BUTTER. Man those are so good I could easily down a basket myself… yum!
