west michigan whitecaps.

Last night, I went with Kayla and Christopher to see our minor league baseball team, the West Michigan Whitecaps, take on the Fort Wayne Tincaps.  It was my first game of the season and I was excited!  More to see my friend, but the game was a great bonus!

I found a deal on Facebook for $5 tickets, plus it was Thrifty Thursday, so hot dogs (not exciting), breadsticks, and beer were all dirt cheap!  We all took advantage of the beer deal!

The game started off pretty great – the Whitecaps scored a home run in the first inning!  After that, it was a pretty stagnant, action-less game, which made it that much easier to chat with Kayla and catch up on life!

Eventually, we meandered up to get some food.  I went with some classic ballpark options:  chips and cheese, and later an elephant ear!

There was a ridiculous amount of cinnamon sugar on the elephant ear – I dumped probably half in the trash can and there was still so much on there!

We left near the end of the eighth inning in hopes of getting back to our cars before the rain started – the lightening was picking up pretty consistently throughout that inning and we had already gotten a little wet once.  This was shaping up to be a more than little wet kind of storm.

When we left, the Whitecaps were down by one run and they suspended the end of the game due to the storm.  They’ll finish up tonight, so hopefully the boys can come back and win it!

Are you a baseball fan? My favorite teams are the New York Yankees and the San Francisco Giants.  And, the Detroit Tigers, of course!!!  Admittedly, it can be a pretty uneventful sport, but it’s one of my favorites!  I played softball for a few years as a kid and loved it!

Mmmm. Finger-lickin’ good cinnamon-sugar. That is all.
