weekly workout recap: week of 06.12.11

Another week, another recap!  Last week’s plans:

This past week marked the second full week of my marathon training plan.  I went against one of the cardinal rules of running and increased my mileage, well, a lot more than I probably should have.  Two weeks ago, I had a whopping zero, 8.0 the first week of training, and this week I got up to 14.0.  From here on out, my weekly mileage increases at a much more reasonable pace.

I feel really good about last week!  I only skipped one workout (which was completely worth it to see the Glee tour!), but added in a Spin class I wasn’t anticipating and did an extra mile on one of my runs.

All in all, a good week!

Coming up for this next wee:

  • Sunday:  5.0 miles
  • Monday:  zumba
  • Tuesday:  3.0 miles + powerflex
  • Wednesday:  yoga
  • Thursday:  4.0 miles
  • Friday:  3.0 miles
  • Saturday:  rest

I’ve been sticking solely to the treadmill for the first couple weeks of training, making sure my knee would hold up.  Now that it’s been (so far, so good!) a couple weeks without any significant pain, I want to start transitioning to some outdoor runs.  I’d like one of this weeks runs out of the gym and onto the pavement.

What was your favorite (or best) workout of the last week? Mine is probably trying Spin out of the first time!
