valley fresh steamers.

I love, love, love grilled cheese sandwiches – but I’ve been spoiled.  It can’t just be a blah sandwich anymore with the Kraft American singles, but a good, extra sharp Cheddar cheese.  And, it’s all about what else goes in there.  Last night, it was cherry tomatoes and cilantro.  Yum!

On the side, was half an acorn squash baked with butter, brown sugar, and just a splash of vanilla extract.

Did you guys watch Glee last night?  I think they are doing a fantastic job with the Santana storyline – but, (spoiler alert!) my heart was breaking when she came out her abuela!  Poor girl.  And, no Rachel Berry at Sectionals?!  What?!  New Directions is going to have a tougher go of it for sure.  I’m glad she did the right thing and confessed she stuffed the ballot.

I had heard rumors of the best thing Pop-Tarts could ever come up with, but had yet too see the box in the store.  Until this weekend.  Behold, the amazingness that is the Pumpkin Pie Pop-Tart.  Thank you, Kellogg’s.  You’ve made my day.

I threw a package in the toaster and was out the door (late, again) this morning.  The downfall of such a breakfast is that it does nothing to keep me full.  Thankfully, a co-worker brought in bagels for her birthday.

My belly was full of carby deliciousness this morning.  ‘Twas a good thing.

A couple weeks back, I received a coupon from the Foodbuzz Tastemaker Program to try a bag of the Green Giant Valley Fresh Steamers.  I grew up eating the Green Giant brand and have had great experiences with their products before.  I had even tried a couple of the Steamers vegetables, but was highly intrigued when I saw they now sold more meal-type items in that format.

I immediately gravitated towards the Pasta and Vegetables with Alfredo Sauce.  With two servings at 160 calories each in the bag, I knew it would make a great lunch to have on hand at work.  I’m always on the lookout for things I can keep stocked at the office and this was perfect!

After six minutes in the microwave, it was ready to go!  I am definitely a fan of these babies!  It wasn’t too heavy on the creamy sauce and had a good amount of vegetables.  I was expecting lots of sauce and pasta, with only a couple pieces of vegetables.  I was pleasantly surprised!

Nice work on this one, Green Giant.  You’ve got a happy camper over here!

I paired the pasta with a small salad to get a few more greens in my meal.

Disclaimer:  I received a coupon for a free bag of the Green Giant Valley Fresh Steamers via Foodbuzz; all opinions of the product are entirely my own.

The sad news of the day?  The Uggs have reappeared from the depths of my closet.  Winter is coming.

The happy news is that Grand Rapids didn’t get the snow that most of Michigan did overnight; some places got close to TEN inches!

Best purchase EVER.
Okay, maybe not ever…but I sure to love them. It just stinks they’re so dang expensive here in the States.
