’tis the season.

Dinner tonight was part random cravings, part I’m running out of food to make a legit meal.  I started out with a bagel that I buttered and sprinkled with garlic salt.  Why I didn’t just use regular ole bread, I’m not sure.

This tided me over until my brown sugared acorn squash came out of the oven.  The squash probably could have taken another 5 or 10 minutes in the oven, but I was on a time crunch to get out of the house to head to church.  As it was, we got there 10 a few minutes late!

I mentor a group of high school freshman through my church’s high school youth ministry, Anthem.  This is my second year with these same girls and they are wonderful.  Tonight, they were still wonderful, but a bit slap happy.  I think they’ve got spring break-itis.  Next week is their last week of school before break and it’s definitely showing!!!

Also, how is March almost OVER and I haven’t had a shamrock shake?  Last year, I had three:  the first day of the month, St. Patty’s Day, and the last day of the month.  Overkill, perhaps.  But, when something only comes around once a year, enjoy it while ya got it.  That’s my theory!

Tonight, this shamrocklessness was remedied – Jacqueline and I swung by MickeyD’s on the way home from Anthem to pick up a round for the house.  Well, the first one we tried didn’t have any (seriously? travesty.), so we had to double back to one we passed that still advertised them.  Problem solved.

I’m lovin’ the whipped cream and cherry addition this year!!

We shared some fries too.  Because what goes better with a minty shake than greasy fries?!

Carbs are my friend this week.  That’s my justification.  Jacqueline and Sara, well, they’re on their own.  Except, for shamrock shake season, I don’t think you truly need a reason.

I love the combo of fries and shakes – I think it must be from my childhood of frosties and fries at Wendy’s:)

Man I love those shamrock shakes! I justify it by only getting one per season. The calories, fat, carbs and ingredients are enough to make anyone cringe but they’re just so freaking delicious!!
