I have been absolutely itching for a new workout playlist!  Ironic, seeing as how I really haven’t been working out all that much lately, but there’s really nothing quite like a fresh set of tunes to get me moving!

I almost got through making a playlist without adding anything from Glee!  That would have been tragic!  For reals, though, if you check out any of those songs, Up Up Up by Givers is awesome; definitely a fun, fresh sound!  I hope to hear a lot more of this group in the future if this song is any indication of what they’ve got coming!

It carried me through my workout quite well!  I did the first 2.0 miles of my run before heading to PowerFlex for the first time in a few weeks.  In the run, I added in a couple 400m speed work sections.  I tried to work a little harder in the squats and lunges sections, knowing that I need to strengthen those muscles.  I am bound and determined to make physical therapy work my time and effort!

After PowerFlex, I went to finish up my run.  I had 3.0 miles planned, but once I got that last mile done, I really felt like I could push myself through one more.  I did a total of 4.0 miles in 44:48.  My legs were heavy starting out, but I pushed on!

I don’t often have a desire to cook using the oven, but knowing that I can’t for the time being makes me want to all that much more.  Everything I wanted to make necessitated turning on the oven.

Instead, I went with the best fallback:  chips and salsa.

This corn and bean salsa is my new favorite!  So tasty and it’s got just a bit of a chipotle kick.  Nothing super strong, but just enough so you know it’s there.

I’m watching Cupcake Wars right now and it’s really making me crave a cupcake.  Red velvet to be exact.

Wahoo! Get it, girl! Great playlist, great workout!

I had tortilla chips for dinner, too. 🙂
