these streets will make you feel brand new.

First…happy first day of fall! I’m not going to lie, I’m quite saddened by this. I love summer and fall means that winter is just around the corner. I do not love winter, at least not the Michigan kind of winters!

This morning’s boot camp was all about two things: running and ArtPrize (which you’ll hear more about throughout the next couple of weeks…probably the point you’ll be either ArtPrized out or love it so much you’ll want to move to Grand Rapids, more affectionately known as G-Rap, for ArtPrize 2011. I hope it’s the latter!). We split up in groups based on our mile time from Friday’s fitness testing. My time was 10:02 but in an effort to work on my speed, I joined the 9-10 minute mile group. It was tough, especially at the end, but I was really proud of myself for pushing through, especially when some others in my group walked at the end.

My Panera purchase from last night completely hit the spot after running! I heart cinnamon crunch bagels!

They are even better when (lightly) slathered in hazelnut cream cheese!

I brought leftover pasta for lunch. There was at least two servings in the container, but I was so hungry I ended up eating the whole thing! That is one thing I dislike about pasta – what is an actual serving is so small!

I had some spinach to add in. Unfortunately, I realized as I was heating it up, the spinach was in the refrigerator, and not the one in the office. Nope, the one at home which did me no good whatsoever. I’m totally counting the tomato basil sauce as a serving or two of veggies. I don’t know if it’s the most legit method, but it makes me feel better. You’ve gotta work with what you’ve got, right?

It left me in a semi carb-coma for an hour so afterward, but never fear, I broke out the new Glee tunes and rocked out to “Empire State of Mind” on repeat! These streets will make you feel brand new, the lights will inspire you. Gleeks, did you LOVE the season premiere as much as I did? As much as I loved last night’s, I am unbelievably excited for next week’s Britney Spears tribute! The girl has made some of the biggest hits of the 90s and 00s, I think it will be one of the most epic episodes yet!

But, wanna know the true highlight of the day? Pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting! Someone brought it in and I was on cloud nine.

I think like most of the bloggers out there, I love, love, love fall for one specific reason: pumpkin! Since there’s a rumored pumpkin shortage this year, this was a definite tasty reminder I need to go stock up while I have the chance!

What’s your favorite part of fall?

I love fall’s cooler temperatures… like, I think my ideal outfit would be jeans and a hooded sweatshirt. And you just can’t do that in the summer (I may still do it sometimes in the winter but I regret it each time :-P)! That, and I’m a sucker for the gorgeous fall colors – MI and WI drives get sooo much better when you can see all the beautiful orange + red + yellow on the trees!

Jeans and a hoodie is definitely a fabulous combo! I wish I could wear that to work!

My favorite part of fall:
The colors and the food!
You’ve got orange/red/yellow/bright leaves and halloween costumes, pumpkins, candy, thanksgiving dinner (if you count that as fall and not winter ;] ), pretty much everything that I love in the world happens in fall!

I put off thinking about winter as long as possible, so I definitely count Thanksgiving dinner as fall! 🙂

Love the blog!
I live in Winnipeg Canada. We have a famous intersection downtown. Portage and Main. Coldest street in the world. No protection from the -40 windchill we get up here.

Ah, I thought it was bad when we just barely dip into the negative temperatures! I couldn’t handle that kind of cold!
