the voice in your head.

This clip has been on my “must share on the blog” list for a week or so now – if you’re a fan of The Big Bang Theory, you should most definitely watch (and let it play until the very end)!

The only thing that would make it better is if Jim Parsons and Johnny Galecki were dancing, too.  Now, that would be “bazinga” worthy.

Tonight was my first time at hot yoga in three weeks!  The last time I went was right before the bronchitis hit, and I was stoked to get back!  Since I’ve been getting into a semi-regular (soon to just be regular!) practice, I’m remembering just how much I love yoga.  Often times when I’m at class, I find myself thinking things like “I can’t hold this pose any longer” or “I can’t do that pose without a block”.  What struck me tonight though, was that when I get rid of those thoughts, I can do so much more than I realize I’m capable of.

Every time I found myself starting to doubt myself, I forced myself to switch it around with a positive thought.  It was so encouraging to see how that improved my practice the entire night.  Did that make it any easier?  Not even a little bit.  A natural yogi I am not.  But, was I able to do better, do more?  Absolutely.  That attitude adjustment made me enjoy the class even more than I usually do, and the night flew by.

Tonight, I also crossed an item off my 101 in 1001 list:  to buy “a lottery ticket when there’s a crazy big jackpot”.  I’ve bought scratch off tickets sporadically, but never a legit lottery ticket.  Tonight, the PowerBall jackpot was up to $550 million, which is the second biggest amount ever.  I honestly didn’t realize there was a drawing tonight until the Twitterverse told me so, and I made a quick decision to run out for a ticket.  For a $2 ticket, why not throw my hat in the ring?

I didn’t win a dime which I’m not shocked by at all, but it was fun!  If I had won, a few of the things I’d do with my winnings are pay off my student loans, buy a house, take my whole family on a trip to Hawaii, and donate a bunch to charity.  And, buy my way into the Boston Marathon since my odds of qualifying are right up there with my odds of actually winning the PowerBall jackpot!

What would you do with the $550 million jackpot?

I LOVED that video when I saw it on FB. So awesome.

I’d quit my job (or at least go part-time) and start traveling around the world. After I created huge college funds for the wondertwins, of course.

The quote about the voice in your head is one I think about often when I’m on a long run. I know I can run X number of miles and if I tell myself that I can over and over then I will!
