After I finished shoveling, it felt so great to just sit for awhile. That snow was heavy!
Once I got inside I made some overnight 30 minute oats in a jar. I had an empty jar of almond butter, but I knew I wouldn’t be able to make true overnight oats until next week since I can’t have Greek yogurt starting tomorrow. I went for the next best thing and let it all sit for half an hour.
My jar had a good mix: the last tablespoon or so of cinnamon vanilla almond butter, vanilla Chobani, almond milk, rolled oats, cacao nibs, and chia seeds.
It wasn’t quite the same as letting it sit overnight, but it hit the spot! Unfortunately it didn’t fill me up at all, so I finished off the container of Chobani, adding in some granola and white chocolate chips.
Eventually I headed over to the Y to finish out my long run after doing the first half yesterday. After shoveling, it was tough motivating myself to run, but I knew I had to do it. I was really proud that I pushed myself to run 3.2 miles before stopping. I walked 1/10th of a mile before wrapping up the 3.5 miles in 38:51 (11:06 pace).
After some good stretching and another day of the 100 push up challenge (17 today!), I headed to buy some groceries. I have produce now!!! Score! It was an expensive trip…I left a little over $100 later. I’ve got some eating to do! Sadly though, despite how much I spent, I still forgot some things! I seriously need to start shopping with a list. ASAP.
I broke out some food fitting for a big game: chips and guacamole! I think I ate about half the container of guac. LOVE. Whoever decided that a serving is 2 tablespoons was some serious kind of crazy.
So, confession time: I didn’t actually watch the Super Bowl. I just didn’t care…does that make me a bad American? Probably!
Instead, I popped in Winter’s Bone since I never got around to it the other night. I hadn’t heard of it before the Academy Award nominees were announced and really had no idea what it was about. This young girl, Ree Dolly, finds out that her drug-dealing dad is MIA and has an upcoming court date. He put the family house up for his bond, so if he doesn’t show up, the family looses their home. She sets out to find out what happened to her father so that the family can keep their house. Everyone she talks to in the process tells her to mind her own business, stop looking, and so on.
I thought it was a bit slow. I don’t know if it was just not the type of movie I was in the mood for, but it really didn’t keep my attention that well. I think it had the potential to be great, but it didn’t do it for me. Out of the films I’ve seen thus far, The Social Network stands the best chance, but I don’t think it will win. I need to see Black Swan ASAP. My money is still on that.
I’ve got a new week to get ready for! Mondays come fast!
