sweet tooth, 1. willpower, 0.

Last night, I threw everything for a smoothie into the blender and let the jar sit in the fridge overnight.  As I was getting ready this morning, all I had to do was run it for a few seconds and I was good to go!

I went with a strawberry banana combination this time around with:

  • 1/3 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 banana
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

It was missing just a little something, but overall it was good.  Then, I got to work and temptation reigned supreme.

I tried to resist, I really did and I held out over an hour.  My willpower ultimately lost and a just slightly warmed up apple fritter found it’s way to my desk.

It’s been a pretty quiet day thus far which has been pretty nice.  I’ve worked ahead on a few things for work and got a project wrapped up.  It’s dark and dreary outside, though, so I’d much rather be curled up at home!  Such is life.

Whenever Julie blogs about the bagelwiches she makes for lunch, I can’t help but think how easy and delicious they look.  So, I got inspired and made my own!  Presenting, the cheddar cheese, strawberry jam, and apple bagelwich.

I had the rest of the apple and some cantaloupe on the side.  I also had a container of honey vanilla Yoplait Greek yogurt.  The Chobani selection was pretty picked over when I did my grocery shopping, so I gave the Yoplait brand a shot since it was on sale and I had a coupon.  I’ll stick with my beloved Cho!

I need to buy some yeast, but once I do, I’m immediately making this apple braid recipe.  I die.

Hitting the road for my first run since the half marathon tonight!  Here’s to hoping my knee holds up!

Who can resist an apple fritter?!? I’m drooling just thinking about one 🙂

Oh man that apple fritter looks AWESOME. I’d have a hard time resisting, too.
