It’s been one of those weeks.  Overwhelmingly busy, exhausting, and stressful.  Top it off with a pretty persistent headache and I’m ready for the weekend.  All that said though, I’m remembering to count my blessings.  I have a job to go to forty hours a week, a roof over my head, food on my table, friends and family that love me.  I know, all kind of cliché, but sometimes that’s enough.  Yet, I believe with every fiber of my being that I am so fortunate the life I have; yes, even on the days when it takes a lot to remember that!

Super sweet letters from wonderful people like Heather that show up in the mailbox just on the day I desperately needed it are pretty great too.  Thanks again, dearie.

Anyhow, by the time I left work every day this week, I have felt completely drained and exhausted.

Since it’s Thursday, it was time to hop on the scale again.  Okay, I do that pretty much every morning, but Thursdays are the day it counts!  It was not much of a loss on the scale this week, but it’s better than nothing and I’ll gladly take it!

last weigh in: 162.2 | this week: 161.8 | change: -0.4 | overall: -71.2

I brought a breakfast with me to work, but as I got closer, I realized I really just wanted a bagel.  That’s all.  So, I went with the craving and stopped on my way.

Instant gratification for the win!  The really good coffee at Bagel Beanery really helped, too.

It was an über busy day in the office.  So much that it was nearly 3 pm by the time I finally got away for lunch.  I almost always eat at my desk, but it was a day I just needed a change of scenery for a few minutes.  I continued with the morning comfort food craving and grabbed a slice of pizza for lunch.

Oh, and this little guy!

Someone was walking by as I took this picture and I got the weirdest look!  Well, I’m pretty sure I normally get weird looks when I take pictures of my food in public places, but I am able to ignore it.  This dude made it pretty clear he thought I was cray-cray.  Eh, maybe he’s right.

On Sunday, I did a 5.0 mile run.  I have not worked out a day since then.  I’m okay with that.  Some weeks (like last week), I’m on top of my game, super active and loving my time at the gym.  Some weeks (like this week), what I need more than anything is quality time with the couch and a book.  One thing I’ve learned in this healthy living journey is it’s not just about knowing my limits, but listening to by body and sanity when I need to cool it.

The gym will be right where I left it.

Since lunch was so much later than normal, I haven’t been all that hungry for dinner.  I grabbed a spoon and polished off what was left of the dessert hummus I made yesterday, and called it a day.
