sixty.

I had one number in mind when I arrived at the gym yesterda:  sixty.

Sixty minutes on the treadmill.  Normally when I run, it’s all about the mileage, but I really felt like I needed a different perspective this time around, so I went with minutes.  One hour, running as much as I can, walking when necessary.

I rocked it.

One hour, run and done, baby!

In one way, it’s amazing that I’d be so proud of an hour because I never, ever thought I’d be a runner.  On the other hand, it’s humbling, because just a few months ago, I ran much, much longer than that at the National Half Marathon and the River Bank Run.

Yet, right now, I am where I am, and an hour is a huge accomplishment.

5.3 miles.  Two stretches of 10 minutes straight running.

Maybe, just maybe, the marathon isn’t out of the picture.  I’m still just taking it one day at a time.  And for this day, I’m so proud of what I accomplished.

Nothing is out of your reach if you want it bad enough. Great job on your run!
