For dinner tonight, we ventured out to a super small nearby town, Homer, for awesome pizza at Cascarelli’s. I had a few bites of my sister’s side salad to start. My sister, niece, and I shared a build your own. We used pesto for the sauce, and had artichoke hearts, sundried tomatoes, garlic, caramelized onion, and broccoli as toppings. Between the three of us, we polished off a 10″ pie.
I had four small pieces.
On the drive home, we ran into some seriously nasty looking clouds. The town where my sister and her family live had a tornado touch down this week and did some damage. My nephew now calls every storm a tornado.
What better to do when driving in bad weather than to stop for ice cream? We stopped at this total whole in the wall place sandwiched between two gas stations. They have homemade ice cream, not much is better than that!
I had a small cone of chocolate chip cookie dough. It was melting quickly, so I more or less inhaled it.
Next time, scratch the cone. Stick with a cup.
The good thing about storms? They bring rainbows! We saw a big one!
I love rainbows…too bad I didn’t find my pot of gold!
