perspective.

Perspective is walking out of work, thinking it’s finally starting to cool off a bit, and realizing it’s only 93 degrees.  But, when it’s been pushing 100 for a few days, that few degrees really does make a difference!

Perspective is seeing gas prices at $3.68 a gallon and thinking it’s pretty cheap.  But, when I paid $0.20 more a gallon just ten days ago and well over $4.00 just last month, it’s not so bad!

I’ve been trying to keep the mindset that a situation is only as good or bad as I want to see it.  It can get easy to look at things from a negative perspective, be in a mad mood, and complain.  But, if I can keep a positive attitude then what might otherwise be a lousy situation might not be so bad after all.

It’s all about perspective.

Eats were totally random today!  Breakfast was more toast and sunflower seed butter.  I know, I know, you’re shocked by this.

I had to get out and run some errands at lunch.  Well, more like I had to run home and get my last Netflix DVD.  I cancelled my account (boo for price increases) and the movie I had at home is due back tomorrow or they’re charing me $14.00 for it!  I’m hoping the mail man gets it there in time!

While I was out and about, I was craving a cold drink.  I stopped at Starbucks on my way into the office and grabbed an iced caramel macchiato and some pumpkin bread.  As I was finishing the bread, I realized it was probably not so vegan.  I was right.  Crap.  I need to be better about asking these sorts of questions before buying/eating things!  Ah well, lesson learned and life goes on.

At least it tasted good!  And yes, that was my lunch.

For dinner, I ate the rest of the pasta I made on Tuesday night.  It was great on Tuesday, but having been chilling, it was even better tonight!

Not the best day in terms of quality eating, but that’s okay.  I’m going grocery shopping and doing some cooking this weekend, so my fridge will be all restocked and ready to go!

I totally had to take my own advice to get myself to the gym tonight.  It was really enjoying laying in the sunshine with a good book!

Working out was really the last thing I wanted to do, but I’m glad I did!  4.0 miles plus 200 abs!  Boom!  As much as I’d love to build my speed back up, I know that right now, it’s not an option.  I tried going around a 10:00 minute mile pace for a minute and could almost instantaneously feel it in my knee, so I slowed it back down.  Still, I felt pretty good about finishing in just over 44 minutes!  Not too shabby!

Now I’m enjoying some wine and watching the Fleetwood Mac episode of Glee!  This was one of my absolute favorites of the whole season!
