on again, off again…and on again.

After going to bed with a food baby last night and desperately needing something to help me get refocused on healthy eating, portion control, and weight loss, I signed back up for Weight Watchers.  Again.

I’ve had an on again, off again relationship with Weight Watchers since I first joined in September 2006.  I was quite  diligent for the first almost two years, then I went to live in California in the summer of 2008 and ate camp food for about 95% of my meals.  Trying to count points was next to impossible.

Since then, I’ll join for three months then cancel my membership for awhile once I find I’m not really making using it anymore.  I’m not going to pay if I slowly stop using it.  This morning, Laura‘s post inspired be to get back on with the program.

Not only that, but I signed up for Jenna’s That Weight Loss Challenge 2.  I’m crazy ready to get my A game on, work my butt off (literally  😉 ), and lose some weight.  How many times have I said that?  Weight loss is hard, yo.

Plus, my uncle sent me this picture from our family dinner a couple weeks ago.  I wasn’t happy with it.

Rather than complaining, it’s time to drink a little less, move a little more, cut back on the snacking, and get my head in the game, all High School Musical style.

As of this morning, about 34 pounds stand between me and my goal weight and I want so badly to reach that goal that’s seemed so far away for 5+ years. It’s time to stop being lazy about it, time to stop taking about wanting it, and actually make it happen.

That’s great, Mindy! I’ve been doing it (this is my third or fourth or fifth time, I can’t remember) for about a year now, and I’ve finally realized that I need the accountability of WW on a permanent basis. 🙂
Have you done it with Pts Plus yet?

The last time I “recommitted” to WW it was with Pts Plus, but I was SO not dedicated that I pretty much threw my money out the window for that three months.

I’ve been back on WW for just over a month now, and I don’t think I’m a fan of the PointsPlus. I probably just need to really go over all the information that is on the site and plan my meals AND snacks. I seem to overdo the snacking part, things like crackers and peanut butter pretzels add up quickly! Your post has inspired me to get back on track with WW!

I am so jealous! I have always considered trying to become a leader. I’ve always had jobs where I speak in front of people, and I’m kind of a WW disciple, haha, but it’s that getting to lifetime thing that’s kept me from doing it so far…

I am SO WITH YOU. It has been 3 or 4 months for me since I’ve been REALLY dedicated and on the right track. I signed up for TWLC2 as well! And I have 35 pounds to go to my goal! So we are totally in the same boat! Hopefully we can encourage each other through it!

Good for you! I was trying to get back on for the past 2 months and I was just going through the motions without really changing anything. Well now it has been 2 months that I could have been losing and this week I finally stepped my game up! I am doing Weight Watchers too! Good luck there are so many of us on this boat we can’t sink the ship yet!

Good luck! You can do it! I understand how hard it is, though. I consider myself a very healthy person. I eat well and am very active. Unfortunately, I also eat waaaaaaay too many sweet things. I have about 20-25 pounds to lose, and it’s slow-going…but I’ll get there. Just like you.
