Hello October, where did you come from? Seriously, what happened to September (and August and July and June, for that matter)? But more importantly, happy FRIDAY!!! I don’t know about you, but I am SO glad the weekend is finally here and I have lots of fun plans in store (including some much needed sleep!).
Just yesterday, I was thinking that I was so proud of myself for making it the whole week without having a latte breakfast. It’s not the greatest habit in the world and it’s one I’m trying to stop. But, I caved today. I needed that extra boost of caffeine, that warm milky caramel goodness. Okay, okay, maybe I didn’t so much need as want, but either way, Biggby it was.
Today’s inspirational message is brought to you courtesy of my cup cozy! be inspired. be revitalized.
And another ArtPrize entry, because after all, what’s morning without some great art?
I like starting a new month out with goals. I know that any day is a good day to start something new, but the first of the month always seems so fresh and new, that for me, it’s the best time to do it.
Food: continue working on the transition to a vegan diet, particularly focusing on cutting down/eliminating cheese. Additionally, no more Diet Coke! Goodbye sweet nectar.
Exercise: I’ve already committed to 100 miles on the treadmill or road in the Going the Distance challenge. Additionally, I want to start the 100 push ups program and incorporate little ways to add in extra activity. This morning, I walked up the nine flights of stairs to my office rather than taking the elevator!
Health: floss every day! I am so, so bad about flossing and I know it’s something I should be doing.
And, since I want this blog to be about me as a whole person, not just my food and exercise, a few areas of my more personal life.
Finances: be better about how much money I’m spending, particularly when it comes to food! I eat out far more than I should and have a horrible habit of buying more groceries than I can really eat (partly because I eat out too much!), then they go to waste.
Faith: pray more and read the Bible every day. I encourage the girls I mentor through the youth group to be doing that, so I want to set that example in their lives.
It’s a lot for one month, but I’m feeling up for the challenge! Go big or go home! I’ll keep you posted how it all goes!
What goals do you have for the month?
