lots of randomness.

in Weight Loss

Whew, yesterday was a crazy, go-go-go kind of day!  I worked, left work for a few hours to get to a doctor’s appointment, came back to work to finish out the day, went to the Y, came home to shower, eat dinner, and head out to Andrea and Ryan’s for a a few hours.  By the time I got home, I crashed into bed!

I never posted my weigh in from Thursday!  Very unfortunate, since it was a great week!  Well, two weeks technically, since I didn’t get on the scale the week before because I was house-sitting.

last weigh in: 163.8 | this week: 162.2 | change: -1.6 | overall: -70.8

Woohoo!  I’m glad to see things heading back the way I want them to!

The big news to talk about is that I went to the doctor yesterday to chat about my knee.  She was pretty concerned that there is something wrong since it’s been such an ongoing, consistent problem.  She’s going to have me get an MRI to see what’s going on.  Worst case scenario, it shows nothing and at least then I have that peace of mind and it will just take time to heal.  In the meantime, I’m going to do some physical therapy to see what they can do to help.  The people she referred me to have an office at my Y, so that will be really convenient!

I grabbed an iced coffee from Starbucks after I left the doctors office.  Just before heading back into work, I grabbed some Jimmy John’s.  While I was in the store, I forgot I already had coffee in the car and got a Diet Coke.  I was really overly caffeinated by the time I left work!

I had a 3.0 mile run planned yesterday.  I finished that and was walking a bit to cool down when I realized that I had a little more to give, so I did a pretty easy mile to bring it up to a total of 4.0!  The last mile was pretty slow, but it felt great to exceed what I had planned!  I’ve been sticking solely to the treadmill because I didn’t know how my knee would hold up.  At least on the treadmill, if I have to stop, I can stop without having to worry about how I would get home.  Now, I’m feeling like I’m ready to start transitioning to some outdoor runs!

Eats yesterday were pretty uneventful.  The highlight was definitely the smoothie I made after I got home from the Y – I kept it really simple with 1 cup of V8 pomegranate green tea, 1 cup of a tropical-ish mixed fruit, and a banana.

I was back at the Y this morning for my first ever Spin class!  I hear so many people talk about it, love it, get stoked about it, and so on.  I think it will help my running and overall fitness in general.  I really didn’t know what to expect, but I enjoyed it!  It was a challenging experience and in retrospect, I could have pushed a little harder.  Next time!

Gotta wrap this one up – I’m leaving for Chicago in 30 minutes. I still have to pack for the night and finishing getting ready (still have wet hair, no make up, etc).

Catch ya later!
