just do it.

in Goals and Challenges

Somebody did not want to get out of bed this morning and, yes, that somebody was me!  It was cold in my apartment and my bed was cozy.  I finally stumbled into the shower with just enough time to get ready before I had to head out the door with my Larabar breakfast in hand.

I hit the road early (okay, not so much early as 9 am) this morning to head to the east side of the state for a bridal shower.   Minus some traffic around Lansing with people heading to the Michigan State football game (go green!), it was a fairly uneventful drive.

Andrea, being the thoughtful friend she is, made sure there would be some vegetarian friendly food for me.  The main dish was mostacholi, which is one of her favorites, but there was a meatless version for me!  Thanks friend!

And some yummy fruit!  Pineapple, strawberries, green grapes, and watermelon are amongst my favorite fruits EVER.

I had a piece of bread with some buttah too.

I stopped on the drive back home to fill up my gas tank since I was starting to get low.  I have this fear of running out of gas miles from a gas station…yet, I probably push my luck far often than I should.

While I fueled up my car, I fueled up my belly, too!  What’s a (quick) road trip without snacks?!  I heart peanut butter M&Ms!!  I grabbed a coffee, too.

While I was driving home, I was thinking about my weight loss journey and my goal weight.  I’m only about 30 pounds from where I said I wanted to end up with I started this.  Although I am definitely at a point where I am happy and focused more on being all around healthy, it would be nice to get where I want to be, you know?  The thing is, I know what I need to do.  I lost 70 pounds already, so clearly I got something figured out.  I just don’t do as much of what I know I should.

That being said, I really want to try harder to cut out the junk, increase the good stuff, and add in a bit of exercise where I can.  I really want to get to the finish line!  Just do it!!

I’m dog sitting again for a couple of days!  Remember Norman and Rosie?  I’m hanging’ with them until Monday night.  It makes me wish I had a dog!  Someday…

Normally when I dog sit, I bring a bunch of my own food with me so I know I’m stocked up on what I want to be eating.  I didn’t do that this time, partly because I’m running super low on food right now but also because it’s a pain to drag a bunch of stuff with me for only a couple days.

So, I grabbed something that I know will tide me over:  pizza!  A thin crust garden veggie from Papa John’s!  I started with two slices.

And, some garlic dipping sauce, which in my opinion, is really the only reason to get Papa John’s pizza!  It’s so good!

I got some cheesy breadsticks, too.  I ended up eating a quarter of the order…it was just too tasty!  (So much for knowing what I need to do, oops!).  I had a third piece of pizza, as well.

Since I’m going to just be chilling alone tonight with the puppies, I’m going to take full advantage of it.  I’m going to throw on my sweatpants, and curl up with a good book and a couple of movies.  Oh, and watching this week’s Glee (again) will definitely happen as well.

What’s your favorite road trip snack?

My fav road trip snack is any sort of popcorn.

Love the word search background for the bread and butter ;D

Haha, thanks…I got an almost artsy shot without even trying! I just ran out of room on my plate! 🙂

Chips! (And dip, if I can get away with it 😉 )
I find when I’m on the road, EVERYTHING I eat is a snack.
I don’t know if it’s the lazy feel of it or just the lack of a kitchen, but road trip snacks are pretty much the #1 thing I make sure I pack

Agreed…it’s not a true road trip without them, I think!

Go Spartans! Amazing how well they did after last week’s drama!
I need a cup of coffee if I’m at the wheel. Otherwise, I like just about anything chocolate and bite-sized… aka, M&Ms.

I missed the game, but I heard they did great! I think it helps they were playing a weaker team this week!
