in Grand Rapids

Horribly cheesy title for this post…but I just couldn’t resist!  😉

One of the summertime staples around Grand Rapids is Jersey Junction, this cute little seasonal ice cream parlor in an area called Gaslight Village.  It’s one of those “summer isn’t complete until I’ve eaten here” kind of places, in my book.  Tonight, we started summer out a bit early with the first trip of the year!  Sure, it’s only April, but in all fairness, they have been open since March 1.  Okay, in all honesty, had I known they opened then, I certainly would have gone sooner.  But, I didn’t, so here we are today!

I had Milky Way ice cream in a (made from scratch in the store!) waffle cone.  They don’t always have this flavor, but when they do you know that’s what I’m getting!

After getting home, I threw together dinner:  pasta and wilted spinach with Classico Sundried Tomato sauce, and a slice of garlic toast on the side.  A proper Italian meal isn’t complete without some garlic bread, I think!  Actual Italians might disagree though, but I’m not so sure on that one.

It’s been a pretty quiet night in – enjoyed an Oberon, watched Jeopardy and a couple reruns of Friends, and here we are!  I’m quite enjoying it, though!

Hope your Friday night is treating you well!

My grandparents used to take us there every summer we visited. The ice cream cones still look as big as I remember 🙂
