And, now here we are, back to Monday. I know some people have the day off for Columbus Day here in the US and Thanksgiving for all my Canadian friends. To all of you: I’m so jealous! It was a good weekend, but one where I feel like I didn’t have much time to relax. Such is life, right?
I grabbed a bowl of Kashi GoLean Crunch and some almond milk as I was getting ready this morning. I figured milk and cereal were the easiest route, short of stopping for a latte or a bagel and cream cheese, for while I’m house sitting.
One of my coworkers is leaving on Wednesday for a two week mission trip to Uganda. I’m way more jealous of her than I am of everyone who had today off. It’s one of my goals in life to visit Africa, particularly Uganda (amongst numerous other places). I’m so passionate about an organization Invisible Children that has done a ton of work with the children there. (She’s going with a different group, though). Anyways, we had a surprise lunch to send her off today, so we all chipped in a bit and ordered in.
My plate consisted of a slice of mushroom and tomato pizza and some garlic bread.
A little bit of salad.
And, what’s that hiding out back there? Oh, hey pasta!
There were a few desserts as well, so I grabbed an apple cinnamon muffin for an afternoon snack.
The office was full of snacks today. I brought in leftover pumpkin pie and brownies my sister had made from yesterday’s reunion and someone else brought in doughnuts. All this on top of the muffins and apple bars. I definitely am realizing how much I’m growing in my food habits. It’s not long ago I would have wanted a little (okay, maybe a lot) of everything, but today I was satisfied with just the muffin.
I’m not sure if I ate too much or if something isn’t agreeing with me, but I’ve felt funky most of the afternoon. I am getting more and more convinced that I have some degree of lactose intolerance, since cheese/dairy consumption seems to be the only time my belly gets unhappy with me.
On the agenda for tonight is a light dinner and a yoga session. I am really needing some yoga in my life right now!
Where is one place you want to travel? As cliche as it sounds, I really want to see as much of the world as I can!
