i want ice cream.

Less than 48 hours into Lent and I desperately want sweets for no other reason than I know I can’t have them.  Please tell me this gets easier!  One day down, 39 to go.

Here’s the thing though.  For me, part of my faith is honoring God with my body and I don’t feel like with the amount of junk I’ve been eating lately that I’ve been doing that.  So, it’s kind of a two fold thing giving up sweets.  Yes, it’s definitely a sacrifice in that it’s challenge, but I also pray that it does strengthen my relationship with God in that I’ll be better at honoring the Earthly body He gave me.

Still.  It’s hard.  I want ice cream so fricking bad. (Travie McCoy wants to be a billionaire…I’d be happy with ice cream!)

Breakfast was quick and easy this morning with a bowl of Kashi GoLean Crunch.  I freaking love this stuff.  I had to be sure to measure it out though…I got great new bowls, but they’re so big that I could have easily eaten more than I needed.

Not surprisingly, I was hungry a couple hours later.  Cereal is probably one of my favorite foods, but it just nothing to sustain my appetite for very long!  I had a Cherry Pie Larabar for a mid-morning snack; it’s definitely not as delish as the apple pie flavor I had the other day.  Then again, I’m not a huge fan of cherries…so, why I bought this flavor, I’m not quite sure!

I went for a little walk to grab some lunch; nothing special just a slice of cheese pizza and a cheese-filled breadstick.  Much like breakfast, it certainly isn’t going to keep me feeling full for very long.  Good thing I’ve got other stuff to munch on later in the day!

I’m slacking on the water today – time to go refill my bottle and get back to work!
