Wow, Friday seems like ages ago!

When I registered for the Healthy Living Summit back in June (I think?), it seemed so far away, but time flies and before I knew it, the time had come to head towards the City of Brotherly Love!

My flight was bright and early on Friday morning with a scheduled departure for 5:40am, which had me leaving for the airport just before 4:00am.  Early bird gets the worm, right?

There aren’t any direct flights from Grand Rapids to Philadelphia; I had a connecting flight through Cincinnati where we ended up sitting on the plane at the gate for about an hour while they had to do some repairs to the plane.

A little later than anticipated, I landed in Philadelphia and made my way to the hotel!  A group of us walked over to Govinda’s Vegetarian Restaurant for lunch.  I was torn on what to get (it all looked so good!) and I ultimately didn’t decided until it was my turn to decide.

I went with the chicken cheese steak – when in Rome, right?!  It was a little ridiculous how much they can make tofu taste like chicken!

It was so good to get some quality food in me – I had a cinnamon roll from Cinnabon during my layover (yum!) for breakfast, but that was really all I had eaten during the almost twelve hours I had been up!  I felt like a whole new person!

What’s a blogger lunch outing without a trip for some frozen yogurt?  Several of us stopped by Sweet Endings on the way back to the hotel – marking my first self-serve fro yo experience!

Oh sweet baby Jesus, Grand Rapids needs a place like this.  I know there’s a TCBY, but that’s not the same thing at all.  Actually, it’s probably good that we don’t have anything like this.  My waistline and my wallet would pay for it drastically!

Back at the hotel, it was time to check in for the Summit and collect our epic swag bags.

And to think – I accumulated even more over the course of the weekend.  Ridiculous.  And by ridiculous, I mean ridiculously awesome.

Then it was time to head over to the Reading Terminal Market for the cocktail party!  Check out the food spread!

The highlight of the cocktail party is definitely seeing everyone looking all fancy!

By the end of the party, I was definitely feeling the middle of the night wake up call – although, the two beers I had maybe had something to do with it. 😉

Recaps of the rest of the Summit and some sightseeing around Philadelphia are on their way…

Oh yea, GR totally needs a self-serve fro yo place! The closest is either Saugatuck or Portage. You are right. TCBY is NOT the same. I hope we get one soon! That and a Trader Joe’s.
