Last week, I realized I had made a really long day for myself with my next big race and a med school graduation all on the same day.
Today, I realized there is no chance on God’s green earth that I can do both. See, I thought graduation was at 3, so for a 25K starting at 8:20, it was totally doable. I’d be exhausted by the end, but I can handle it. The problem, though, is that graduation is not at 3. It’s at 12 and over an hour drive. I do not run anywhere close to fast enough to finish a 15.5 mile run and still make it.
I’m thinking Plan B is to drop down to the 10K. Major bummer. I consoled myself with caramel popcorn from Garrett Popcorn Shop in Chicago that one of my coworkers brought back.
The only thing that would have made this better would be if it were the Chicago Mix with caramel and cheese. Caramel is good, but it’s just not quite the same. One of my sister’s lived in Chicago for about ten years while I was growing up and she always brought some home for us.
Lunch was half an order of takeout pesto pasta with some garlic bread. It was either that or the microwavable Pad Thai. Either way, it was a lazy girl’s meal.
There may have been
a lot some more popcorn consumed in the afternoon. It’s just too good! I was totally fine all day yesterday, but then someone had to go and actually open the bag this morning. Resistance was futile at that point.
Dinner was another easy one with the rest of my leftover veggie sloppy joes.
I seriously suck at incorporating fruits and veg into my eats. Literally the only veg I had today was a teeny bit of onion in the sloppy joe.
New episode of Glee tonight! Gwyneth Paltrow is the guest star. I think being married to a rock star is influencing her career choices these days.
