glee is back.

Just in case you missed it, I was super excited for last night’s television premieres.

So. Ridiculously. Excited!!!

I (as usual) loved Glee.  Except I read so many spoilers over the last week or two that not much of it was a surprise.  Still.  LOVED it and was highly impressed with Lindsay’s performance.  I’m excited to see Damian and Samuel later in the season, as well!

New Girl is going to be, hands down, my favorite new show this season if the pilot was any indication.  Plus, come on, Zooey Deschanel is pretty much the coolest person ever.  Except I also say that about Carrie Underwood and Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Garner and…well, you get the point.  I’ve also got Parenthood and The Biggest Loser DVRed.  So much to watch!

I went to the gym last night to get some miles in.  I didn’t want to.  I was sore and achy all over, and just wanted to curl up with a book and a blanket.  And maybe some tea, even though I really don’t like tea all that much.

But I went.  I could only stand about 15 minutes on the bike before the phlegmy congested person a couple bikes down drove me absolutely batty with their loud breathing.  Maybe I was cranky and irritable, but it drove me nuts.  Instead of snapping because I was on my last nerve and the poor girl probably couldn’t help it, I switched to the elliptical to round out my time.  Everybody wins and I don’t look like the jerk who looses it in the middle of the gym at some innocent stranger.

All in all, I did 4.0 miles on the bike and a whopping 1.0 on the elliptical.

Even though I already decided not to run the Grand Rapids Marathon this year, I was pretty certain I was out however much money I had paid to registered (marathons are expensive!).  I was reading through the FAQs yesterday and discovered that for $20, I can defer my entry to next year.  Way cheaper than signing up again.

So, bring it on 2012 marathon.  I’ll see you at the finish line.

Apparently, I’m feeling highly ambitious about next year, because I’ve also got a sprint triathlon on the radar.  The running and the biking, I can do.  The swimming?  That I’m not so certain.

Don’t get me wrong, I love, love, love playing in the water.  That’s not the problem.  But when it comes to flat out swimming, I’m not the strongest.  Not even close.  We shall see.

My breakfast addiction this week has been bagels.  Whole wheat bagel with honey nut cream cheese.  Today was the third day in a row.  It’s not really that special, but it’s keeping me from spending money at the bagel shop.

$28 a week on eating out does not go far.  Only two weeks into the “28 while 28” project and that much I’ve learned.

I did spend some of that $28 for this week, though, and tried Qdoba for the first time.  I don’t get the hype, it was just okay.  Chipotle forever!

I was also thinking it was ridiculous that if I get the vegetarian burrito, the guacamole is included, but if I get a naked vegetarian burrito (sans tortilla), I have to pay extra.  Silly.

So…this ended up being a bit of a long, somewhat rambling post.  If you’ve made it this far, I applaud you.  And reward you with a picture of cute puppies.  Okay, Norman (the one lying down) was clearly not all that interested.  So, Rosie says hey.

Let’s hear your thoughts for my life in 2012:  marathon, sprint tri, or both?

It’s very cool that the marathon lets you defer your entry to next year. Definitely a wise choice.
