Well hello there!
It’s been quite the week(ish) for me. I am finally recovering from being sicker than I have been in a really, really long time. Between a trip to my doctor Wednesday and the urgent care center Friday night, I had some viral junk. Let me tell you, if something could feel less than great, it did. My sinuses were going crazy, my throat hurt, I had a nasty cough, nausea, and just all over achy.
Not. Fun. At. All.
I’ve spent the majority of the past six days sleeping. I ventured to work for part of the day on Wednesday and again today, but that was about it. When I went to the urgent care center on Friday, I called my sister and begged her to come take me because I knew I was in no condition to drive myself there. She ended up bringing me back to her house afterward and she and her kids took care of me for awhile. (Thanks again, Kris…I really, really appreciate everything!!!)
I am finally starting to feel human again. I got home from work around noon and slept for several hours. Once I woke up, it was the first time anything beyond Saltines, animal crackers, or (when I was feeling up for a real adventure) ice cream sounded good. Granted it was Kraft macaroni and cheese that I was craving, but that’s the closest to real food that I’ve wanted in awhile, so I ventured out to the store to buy a couple boxes. It’s a sad day when a trip to the grocery store is an adventure, don’t you think?
So, I’ve missed the blog world. Well, as much as I could have missed it when I was more or less incoherent for several days. I’ve missed feeling healthy and active. I’ve missed having an appetite. I’m anxious and ready to get back to a normal life. I just have to remember to take it slow for a few days…knowing me, I’ll just make myself sick all over again, rushing back to my routines!
