It has been a fun day hanging out with Emma and Max. They’re pretty great for munchkins!
Before Nicki and Eric left for the show (they had tickets for the touring production of Cirque du Soleil), we all munched on some of my Grandma’s infamous Chex mix.
We spent part of the afternoon watching Despicable Me. Have you guys seen that? It’s really cute. Okay, I dozed off during some of the middle, but I loved what I did see! Plus, Steve Carrell is the voice of the main character, Gru, so that’s an added bonus. Steve is hilarious; The Office won’t be the same without him next season.
I took them for a kid-friendly meal: pizza! We went to my favorite pizzeria in Grand Rapids, Brick Road Pizza (aptly named because it is literally on a section of road that’s made of brick).
They were quite patient waiting for food. It helps that I
bribed gave them Silly Bandz. Those things will keep kids’ attention for ages! The “jewelry” of choice when I was a kid were slap bracelets!
Aren’t they precious?
I thought pizza would be the perfect meal. Yet, neither of them wanted it once we got there! I still got pizza that I wanted, so I was happy. I had the buffalo tofu pizza which is one of their vegan creations. It had a vegan ranch sauce, vegan cheese, tofu with buffalo sauce, and some celery. So. Freaking. Good.
I’ve got a couple kids sleeping in my bed and I’m relaxing with a book and icing my shins. One of the joys of long run days, right? 😉
