feelin’ close to back to normal.

I know I’m feeling better because my food choices have expanded beyond comfort food (Kraft macaroni and cheese) and food that is easy to swallow (soup, pudding, etc.).  Yesterday, I had such a craving for Marie Catrib’s, one of my favorite restaurants in Grand Rapids.

They don’t deliver, but my craving was still around at dinnertime, so a pickup order was just what I needed!

There’s nothing better than one of my favorite meals ever.  The way to my heart?  The sweet potato and quinoa burger with a side of seasoned potatoes from Marie’s.

Oh, and one of these peanut butter brownies couldn’t hurt.

Yep, it was as good as it looked.  Except, the thing with eating meals from local places with super unique menus?  I have NO idea how to count my Weight Watchers PointsPlus, except that it’s a lot.

I woke up this morning feeling better than I have all week!  Still not quite 100%, but pretty damn close, that’s for sure.  And what better way to celebrate than Fancy Coffee Friday?!  I got my pumpkin spice latte because I have to get it while I still can.  Love.

For lunch, some co-workers and I met up with other co-workers that work in a different building from us, so we don’t see too often.  Sadface.  I enjoyed the company of some lovelies and made a meal of the epic salad bar.

Delish.

The other way I know I’m feeling better is I didn’t feel the overwhelming need to go home after work and take a nap.  No, in fact, I went to the gym and was even excited about it!  It was hard and my body was feeling the effects of having been sick for awhile, but I got in a 1.0 mile run and 3.0 miles on the elliptical!  Woot!

I’ve been super hooked on a vanilla Chobani, pumpkin, and pumpkin pie spice combination lately.  For dinner, I threw together some makeshift overnight oats (and by overnight, I mean 30 minutes), adding in some vanilla almond milk and chia seeds.

Looks disgusting.  Tastes amazing.

I went a little overboard with the milk, so it was a bit soupy, but otherwise perfection.

And now, it’s a Friday night and I’m curled up on the couch, with a dog fast asleep on my lap, about to make some more progress in American Wife, and enjoy a glass of tea.  I’m quite content (and also understanding why I’m still single…).

Anyone have fun plans for Halloween weekend?

If we go out and they don’t have the nutritional information on their website, I just de-construct it and calculate the points as best I can.
Have a great weekend 🙂

And that pasta salad looks delicious, I love pasta salads!
To be honest that sounds like the perfect Friday night to me 😉
