February 2017 Goals

Happy February! I can’t believe how fast January flew by (but, then again, I say that about every single month!). Although I didn’t have quite the strong start for my goals that I would have liked, in so many ways, 2017 is already kicking 2016’s butt. Overall, I feel happier and just in a better place than I did for much of 2016. It’s a really good place to be and I hope that the Universe can keep the good vibes coming my way.

February 2017 Goals

January Recap

First, let’s look back at my January 2017 goals. As I said, it was not quite the strong start to 2017 that I was hoping for, in terms of the goals I set. With how much Whole30 messed with my energy levels so far, I had a really hard time mustering up the desire to do anything productive.

Bonus success:
+ I was really on top of things and already filed my taxes! BOOM.

Where I had massive success:
+ Lose 5 pounds: A++! I more than doubled my goal with a total of 10.4 pounds. It makes me feel really great about reaching my overall goal of 43 pounds for the year.
+ Post 12 blog posts: A+, with 15 posts that went live.
+ Increase social media followers by 5%: Overall, I saw an increase of 4.01%, with 9.64% grown on my Facebook page and 6.96% on Instagram.

Where I did pretty well:
+ Pay off $500 in debt: I was on track, but a couple unexpected expenses popped up.
+ Read 6 books: I finished 3 and I’m almost done with 2 more.
+ Read the Gospels: I ended up spending a lot of time in the Sermon on the Mount, so I think the intention was there.
+ Floss daily: I started off really well…

Where I did okay, but could have done better:
+ Bike 100 miles: I logged 45.17 miles, all on the stationary bikes at the gym. I am beyond ready for warmer weather so I can get outside.
+ Run 30 miles: I logged 15.52 miles, which might not seem like much, but I think was more than I ran in the last three months of 2016 combined.
+ Take 6 yoga classes: I took 3 classes.
+ Average 10,000 steps a day: I averaged 6,579 steps with a total of 203, 941 steps.

Where I dropped the ball:
+ Swim 3 times: I didn’t go to the pool at all. I’m rethinking wanting to do a triathlon in 2017.
+ Finish Level 1 of BODYSHRED: I didn’t even start. As much as I know I need to do it, I hate strength training so I put this off.
+ Rewrite my about me page: I honestly forgot about this one.
+ Write thank you notes for my Christmas gifts: I’m procrastinating on this and desperately need to get these in the mail.

February 2017 Goals

In truth, a lot of my goals for February are the same as January, although there are some changes. I don’t want to make too many drastic changes when I didn’t have overall massive success last month. I think that is ultimately setting myself up for failure, and I want to crush my goals for the next 28 days!

Health and Fitness:
+ Lose 3 pounds; since I had such a big loss in January, I’m not expecting huge numbers for this month, but a little under a pound a week seems reasonable.
+ Swim 1 time; I’m not completely ruling out a triathlon in 2017, but I need to get my booty to the pool. I’m hoping setting the bar really low will make it feel like an easy goal to accomplish.
+ Bike 100 miles
+ Run 50 miles
+ Take 6 yoga classes
+ Start Level 1 of BODYSHRED
+ Average 10,500 steps a day (a total of 294,000 steps)

Business and Financial:
+ Pay off $600 in debt
+ Post 16 blog posts
+ Rewrite my about me page since I didn’t do this last month
+ Increase social media followers by 10%
+ Sign 1 health coaching client (reach out if I can help you reach your goals!)
+ Learn more about freelance writing opportunities (namely, where to find them, so if you have suggestions, let me know!)

Personal Development and Life:
+ Finish 8 books; since I’m almost done with a couple and getting back into the reading groove, this feels doable.
+ Write thank you notes for my Christmas gifts
+ Floss daily

10 lbs?! way to go!!! i lost 3 this week…and then had two beers on a date, so we shall see how the actual weigh in goes…I’m doing a work weightless challenge.
