I told myself that I wasn’t going to eat out this week, so what did I do? Ate out twice in one day! Ugh, strikes one and two, all in the same day!
One of my coworkers was out running errands at lunch and offered to grab something from Marie Catrib’s, only one of my favorite places in town. Twist my arm, Aubrie. So, I caved pretty much immediately. I tried something new this time around with The Handyman which was a sandwich with grilled tofu, potatoes, avocado, roasted red peppers, and a garlic spread.
It was tasty, although I think it would have been better fresh off the grill. The bread got super soggy by the time it got to me. I’d get it again.
I broke into my candy jar when I hit the afternoon wall around 3. I needed sugar and I needed it fast. Kit Kat and Reese’s to the rescue!
After work, I headed over to the Y for a quick workout. That’s right, three for three people. Gotta keep the ball rolling. I did 3 miles on the elliptical (33ish minutes), continued with the 100 push up challenge (48 today, baby!), and some crunches.
f4ce of four.
My friend Jacqueline is in the top six for this local competition with one of our ABC affiliates to be the next face of four (or F4CE, if you will). It’s a pretty cool opportunity, actually.
If When she wins, she’ll be like the spokesperson for the network, get a $20,00 contract, a car to drive for the year, and a bunch of other stuff. The finale is next Tuesday, so tonight a few of us got together to film a little vignette to show a bit about Jac’s normal life. We did a dinner club stop at Republic.
I started out with their namesake martini, the Rockin’ Republic. These things are like candy, let me tell you what. I had to make a conscious effort to drink it slowly. I can’t be looking all drunk and whatnot for my television appearance!
We started off with a tray of sushi, cleverly displayed with the F4CE logo. Jacqueline had to get her obligatory photo opp before we could dive in. I stuck with the veggie-friendly pieces.
Moving on. After stuffing my face with sushi, I ordered the stuffed shells. I’ll be honest, I was expecting something large enough I’d have leftovers. Not so much. They were kind of tiny. Delicious, but tiny.
Have you ever been on TV? I vaguely remember filming something for a local station when I was like five. One of those wave at the camera, saying “I watch (insert network name here)”. And, when I went to New York City my sophomore year of high school, we were at the Today Show. You could see my group for about half a second when they panned the crowd.
