Since my stock of groceries is seriously lacking, I went to the store last night just to pick up a couple things to tide me over until a) the kitchen doesn’t look like a bomb exploded, and b) I had a bit more time.
More than a couple things and $35 later, I left. I think it is literally impossible for me to go into the grocery store and spend less than $20. I really can’t complain too much though because I haven’t bought groceries since February 6 (which really just goes to show how little fresh food I’ve eaten over the past couple weeks).
Once I got home, all I wanted was something easy and carby. I had the last bit of a box of Kashi Cinnamon Harvest (that stuff is seriously good!) and a banana nut muffin that was an impulse buy at the store.
I warmed up the muffin for just a bit. Perfection. It was so freaking good!!
Most of the night involved unpacking and singing along to the Glee soundtrack with one of the new roomies. We’re so talented it’s scary. Watch out Lea Michele, you’ve got some competition! My bedroom is really starting to come together. It feels cozy and I love it!
Can I just say that I was probably much more excited than necessary to eat a real breakfast at home this morning? I feel like that hasn’t happened in ages! I made up a bowl of baked apple breakfast oats and it was the best breakfast I’ve had in so long, for no other reason that it felt good to have something other than a bagel or toast.
Today is absolutely flying by! I’ve made some great progress in my to do list and my work email inbox is slowly dwindling back down. I feel so accomplished when my email inboxes (work and personal) are at zero. It doesn’t happen that often, but it’s such a great feeling when it does!
I need to learn to make homemade bagels. It is seriously a necessity in my life. One of my coworkers gave me half of a homemade everything bagel and it was uh-may-zing.
It worked oddly well with my chili.
Gotta get back to work – I’ve got a to do list to conquer! See ya tonight!
