Happy Easter, my lovelies!  He is risen, He is risen indeed!

I got up and went to church before hitting the road to head back to celebrate Easter with some of my family!  My uncle and his fiancée invited me, my mom, and my grandma over for dinner (the rest of the family was with other relatives, in-laws and such).  We weren’t getting together until 2 pm, so I headed to my mom’s and spent some one-on-one time with her for a bit.

I had a Luna bar on my way to church, and on my way home, made a quick detour into Speedway to fill up the gas tank and grab a Diet Coke and some sustenance sugar in the form of a Krispy Kreme doughnut.

While I was at my mom’s, I grabbed some boxes I still had in my closet to bring back to my house.  I spent a little time looking through them and it was a blast!  There was stuff in there throughout all of my grade school years – writing assignments, yearbooks, old journals.  I found some beloved books I thought I’d lost (Great Gatsby, Number the Stars, and quite a few more), and even some old photographs (my mom as a little girl, my grandma and grandpa’s wedding photo).  It was truly a blast from the past!  I can’t wait to really spend time going through it all.

I entertained myself on the trip to my uncle’s house by playing with my phone and taking some self-portraits.  The Hipstamatic app for the iPhone is just too entertaining.

It was like the Animal Kingdom around his place…wild turkeys walking around the neighborhood!  And, a cat in the house, but that’s not as exciting.

I love any opportunity to spend time with my family!  They are all amazing and such a reminder of how truly blessed I am.

Me and Grandma!

Mom and I had a bit of difficulty getting a good picture!  Several takes were involved and by the end, we were laughing the whole time!

Dinner was delicious!  There was pork loin for the non-vegetarians (aka everyone except me), but I had salad, asparagus, a couple Challah rolls, and these Phyllo triangles stuffed with sweet potato, Fontina cheese, thyme, and a couple other things I’m blanking on – but they were amazing!  I ended up having four!

My mom brought the dessert:  angel food cake with raspberry sorbet and fresh raspberries.

We played an epic round of Uno and it was such fun!  It’s been years since I’ve played that game and I forgot how much I enjoy it!  I came in second!  My uncle came in first, but he was also keeping score, so I think some shady business went down there!  😉  I kid, I kid.  Uncle Russ is a top-notch guy.

I hope you had a blessed Easter!
