I definitely contemplated going out for St. Patrick’s Day last night…for a brief moment.  There were plans that fell through and I thought about calling to find where other friends are going.  Ultimately, after a long and somewhat stressful day, I was quite content to relax at the house all evening.

I spent most of the evening watching March Madness – my bracket is holding up pretty well after the first day.  I had Michigan State, Vanderbilt, Louisville, and St. John’s all winning, but didn’t have any of them going much further than round two (Vandy winning one more, but the other two ending there).  12 out of 16 for complete guesses?  Not too shabby.  We’ll see what today brings!

(P.S. Thanks to CBS for streaming the games live!  Definitely listening to the Oakland/Texas game as I write this at my desk!)

I had the last of my deep dish veggie pizza for dinner along with a glass of vino.  Later on in the evening, I had some popcorn as well.

I ultimately stayed up far later than I should have watching the MSU/UCLA game.  I didn’t make it to the end, but it was still late enough.

This morning, I was definitely feeling like I had more than one glass of wine last night!  I was in a bit of a fog most of the morning.  I stopped for a bagel on my way into work and ordered coffee – forgetting that I had the travel mug I had poured at home!  So, I was double fisting it with the coffee.  Not really complaining.

I had a cheddar herb bagel with veggie cream cheese.

It was good.  I still like the salsa pepperjack bagels better though.

Confession:  I haven’t been taking very good care of myself this week.

Not enough water.
Not enough sleep.
Not enough fruits and vegetables.
Not enough exercise.
Not enough “me” time.
Too much caffeine.
Too much junky food.

As the week comes to a close, I can definitely feel the effects of it all.  I feel sluggish, I feel bloated, I have a headache, I feel all around not good.  I’m ready to get back on track.

The funny thing is, before I started my weight loss journey and even more truly, before I really got into blogging and this “healthy living”  community, I felt like this more often than not.  I really don’t know how I lived like that.  Perhaps because I didn’t know any different?  Now that I know what a well-rounded, healthy diet full of whole foods can do for me, I hate when I slip back into old habits.

It’s time to get back on track.

One week from today, I’ll be on my way to Washington DC for the National Half Marathon!!!!!  I am so excited!

I hate how I feel when I get off track too, but the important thing is that you always find your way back! Good luck with your half next weekend, you’re doing the Irish Jig tomorrow right? We’ll be there!
