christmas cookie decorating.

You know it’s truly the Christmas season when a cookie decorating is a group activity!  Elizabeth, one of the other volunteers with the sophomore class at Anthem, invited all of the girls over to her home today to decorate cookies!

It’s honestly something I never do because it’s so crazy time consuming and my attention fades pretty quickly.  But, with a group of fun people around, it’s a lot better!

Elizabeth made some delicious cookies, and had all the fixings:  three colors of frosting, sprinkles, and candy cane bits!

I have wicked awesome cookie decorating skills and got right to work!

Okay, so I might be exaggerating slightly a lot.  I shouldn’t quit my day job to venture into the cookie industry anytime soon, we’ll just leave it at that.

The fruits of my labor were better than I would have expected.  I was particularly proud of the flower – except I think it was actually supposed to be a snowflake.  And the mitten, actually a mitten.  In my mind, I turned into Michigan anyhow since we are more than a mitten.

Okay, so my decorating wasn’t that bad, I don’t think!

None of my cookies made it out the door.  They all (plus a few more) found their way into my belly and they were wonderful!  The sugar high and subsequent crash quickly followed.  Then I didn’t feel so wonderful.

As the cookie decorating was winding down, I helped make a pasta dinner for everyone!  The carbs in the pasta and garlic bread were perfect to balance out all of the carbs in the cookies! 😉

It was a lovely way to spend a Friday evening!

Are you awesome at frosting and decorating cookies?

The 12th – why? You’re going to come run with me? 😉
