chocolate pudding smoothie.

Sooo….apparently, I’m not quite back to the point that running two days in a row is going to work for me.  I had high expectations for a 5.0 mile run and quickly realized that just wasn’t going to happen after pushing myself pretty hard yesterday.  I still managed to eek out 3.0 miles, but I knew that was my limit for today.  Still, 6.0 miles of running plus 7.0 miles on the bike in two days?  Huge.  At least compared to lately.

I’ll take it!

Before leaving work, I had a Clif Bar that I bought at Old Navy.

Yep.  Old Navy sells Clif Bars now (at least mine does).  And candy and soda, but at least they’re trying to redeem themselves with some healthier options.  Still, it’s a clothing store and I don’t quite get why they need to go for the register impulse buys with food.

I don’t get it.  Yet, I needed something that was a couple bucks to bring my total up to $20 so I could use my Groupon recently.  Two Clif bars?  Sold.

I had the best smoothie I have ever, ever, ever made tonight.  It practically tasted like eating a bowl of chocolate pudding.  I kid you not.

The magic combination?  A handful of spinach, 2(ish) cups of frozen strawberries, 1 frozen banana, 1 cup dark chocolate almond milk, 1 tbsp dark chocolate cocoa powder, and just a smidge bit of xantham gum.  All topped with a bit of granola for some crunchity-crunch.

I had some sunflower seed butter toast awhile later while watching an episode of Glee on DVR.  Only because I needed something slightly more substantial to balance out the two beers I also had.  😎
