I was able to cross another item off my 101 in 1001 list this weekend – I officially became a member of the Lubbers Society at my alma mater.  It’s part of their donor recognition program for those who have donated to the University for 3+ years.  I recently set up a pledge for a gift to the new library on campus.

I also made progress in another item on the list last night:  the roommates are going to watch all the Oscar Best Pictures winners since 1983 with me, so we started at square one with the 1983 winner Terms of Endearment.  I honestly went into it not thinking I’d like the movie but it was surprisingly charming and had some definite quotable moments.

While we watched the movie, I had some vino and soon realized I needed some food in my system!  I threw together a quick plate of chips and cheese with guac and salsa.  Perfect food to go with a malbec, right?  😉

Is this time change throwing anyone else off as much as it is me?  I know it’s only an hour, but it’s seriously messing with me!  I had a really hard time getting up this morning, I think in large part because I had started getting accustomed to a bit of daylight when I was getting up and moving.  I love, love, love that it’s lighter later, but I miss the morning daylight!  It’ll be back soon enough.

I grabbed a Luna bar for the road and swung by Starbucks on my way into the office.  I was really tempted to just get the caramel macchiato and call it good, but I know that having something else in my system isn’t such a bad idea.

I was really glad I ate the Luna Bar because it was 1:00 pm before I knew it – crazy, crazy morning!  I was really glad to not have to worry about a mid-morning snack, but I was definitely ready for lunch!!

I had such a random mix of food today!  A hummus and sprouts sandwich with cantaloupe on the side.  The melon wasn’t actually planned, but I forgot it was in the office fridge and needed to eat it up.

I also had some cauliflower and asparagus, both of which I had prepared last week.  Much like the melon, I think the better days for those leftovers are fading quickly.

All such an odd mix of flavors, but tasty food is tasty food, can I get an amen?!

I cannot believe it’s going on 2:00 pm already!!  Perhaps a benefit of the time change…after all, this time last week, it would have only been going on 1:00.  Weird.

I struggled big time today with getting out of bed… yesterday it was barely noticeable but that was because I just got up whenever I wanted to and didn’t have to go anywhere! Here’s to an easier tomorrow!

Hmmm those chips with cheese and salsa look GOOD! That is quite possibly my favourite snack ever 🙂
