celebrating my 28th.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes earlier today!  It has been a lovely (and food-filled!) day.  I feel very special and even more loved; I am blessed with a truly wonderful life.

Starbucks was very kind to honor my birthday (heh) by rolling out the pumpkin spice latte today!  Pair that with a coupon for a free drink and it was the combination for a most excellent morning!

I also had some double chocolate overnight oats that looked, well, not like anything you’d actually want to eat.  But they tasted much, much better than they looked and that’s what counts!

My sister, Kris, came to take me out for a birthday lunch which was a lovely treat!  We went to the Omlette Shoppe and I had my usual, the California Veggie omelette and a side of English muffin toast.

Thanks for a birthday lunch, big sister!  It was lovely to spend part of my day with you!

Everyone at work was telling me I should skip the gym because it’s my birthday, but as the day went on, I realized that was even more why I wanted to work out.  I can’t imagine a better way to spend my birthday with people I love, but also doing something I love!  I ran 1 mile and biked 5 miles.  It’s been awhile since I’ve gotten to the gym, but I’m glad I finally did!  It felt good!

Once I got home, Andrea, Jacqueline, and Sara took me out to Marie Catrib’s for dinner!  I even started on one of my 28 while 28 goals and tried a new dish – mixing it up from the usual sweet potato and quinoa burger.

This time, I went with the Larry David and it was a brilliant idea!  So brilliant that it may have become my new favorite!

One usual I couldn’t resist, though, was the seasoned potatoes.  So good, every time.

And, of course, it wouldn’t be a birthday without birthday treats!  First some cookies and cupcakes at work, not to mention Andrea brought over cupcakes for dessert this evening!  Lots of red velvet, the people in my life know me well.

All in all, I’d call it a wonderful birthday.  I am a lucky girl and so deeply grateful to everyone who made it such a special day.  Thanks loves.

Happy Birthday! I worked out on my birthday too. Working out makes me feel so good – I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
