car trouble.

Happy Friday!  With missing some of work this week from my vertigo, this week has gone crazy fast!

As I was falling asleep last night, I had the idea for a pumpkin breakfast cookie!  How amazing would that be?  But, it was close to midnight and I didn’t have the energy to get up and put it together.

Instead, breakfast was the not nearly as exciting peanut butter toast with white chocolate chips.  Not the same, at all.

For a week or so now, my car has had this faint clicking/flapping (I don’t quite know how to describe it) noise when I’ve been going down the road.  I ignored it as best I could, hoping it’d go away, because that’s clearly how it works!  😉  This morning, it was really, really bad.  To the point that I couldn’t ignore it anymore.

I called my mechanic and they said to bring it in today and they’d have a look.  I waited all morning, expecting the worse but hoping and praying for the best.  Praise Jesus, it wasn’t the disaster I feared…at least not at first.  The bolt that holds a brake hose in place had come loose and finally fallen off, so the hose was hitting against the tire as I drove.  There was one other minor repair they had to do, but all together, it’ll only cost me about $125 which is not nearly what I was anticipating.

An hour later, they called again and said they had some not so good news.  They found something else that needed to be replaced and it was going to be an additional $380.  Sad day.

That being said, anyone want to replace my 10 year old, 130,000 mile car with something a little newer?  I’ll pay you in cookies and other baked goods!

I grabbed some lunch from the cafeteria again today.  I was really craving salad, so I swung through the salad bar.  It was a bit picked over, but I still came up with a good mix:  lettuce, cucumbers, garbanzo beans, tomato, pumpkin seeds, sprouts, banana peppers, and an egg.  The odd thing is that I’m really not a huge fan of hardboiled eggs, but it sounded really good.  I topped it all with a red pepper vinaigrette.

With a side of cinnamon roll.

And, I wonder why I don’t reach my weight loss goal.  Okay, I know exactly why I don’t.  But, if cinnamon rolls are wrong, I don’t want to be right.

Except, I really do want to lose the rest of this weight.  Focus and effort starts…now!

Sorry about the car repairs. We’re currently waiting to see what happens $$ wise, because Tyler’s car needs some TLC. It’s crazy how much $$ all those things cost.
That salad bar looks like something I would create at WF’s. Not too shabby!
