burnt bulgar.

I was doing a bit of cooking for future meals tonight and apparently let the bulgar cook a bit too long because all of a sudden I could smell something burning.  There was water boiling over the top (despite the lid) and a good chunk of it burnt to the bottom of the pan.  Cooking fail.

That was not so fun to clean up, but at least enough of the bulgar was usable to still make my lunch for tomorrow!

dinner.

In the midst of burning bulgar, I made a batch of cracker coated baked tofu.  I had a bottle of Oberon while I was cooking, too.  Can I blame the cooking fail on the influence of less than half a bottle of beer?  Probs not.

I broiled it for a few minutes at the very end and it made it even better!  It’s amazing how broiling really works to crisp things up!

I made a bag of Green Giant Roasted Red Potatoes, Green Beans & Rosemary Butter Sauce to go with the tofu.

Also, I’ve decided I have a problem:  I really need to finish a book before I start a new one.  As a result of this, I am now in the midst of not one or two books, which would actually be quite reasonable, I’ve got six to finish.

I really like books.  But, in all honesty, this is nothing new.  When I was little, I would carry around a duffel bag with at least a dozen books so that in case I finished one book while I was away from the house, I would not only be able to start a new one right away, but I’d have my options as to which to read.  I was a cool kid.

I really liked The Happiness Project.

I was the same way as a kid, I liked having a book ready to go when I finished one. Now I have a Kindle and it’s very conducive to reading several books at once and always having one queued up when I finish one! I fully embrace my nerdery.

Ugh…what a mess to clean up!

I’m a reader too. I usually have a commuter book and an at home book. Always something to read!
