bum knee strikes again.

Hi to everyone who came over from Oh She Glows and welcome to just a one girl revolution.!!  If you want to know a bit of my story including how I’m nearing my goal of a 100 pound total weight loss and became a runner, amonst other things, check out the about me. page.  And, a bit thanks to Angela for featuring one of my recipes!

lunch.

I wanted veggies for lunch…lots and lots of them.  An easy solution for the girl who has a pretty bare bones produce selection is the veggie sub from Subway.  At one point, my college had not one, but two (!) Subways on campus so I definitely got my fair share of Jared’s favorite restaurant.  Does Jared even do the Subway stuff anymore?

I went with the footlong veggie on honey oat and topped it with pepperjack cheese, every single veggie they offer, and a bit of honey mustard.

I saved the chocolate chip cookies for later in the afternoon.  I warmed them up just a bit in the microwave and it was the absolute perfect thing to get past the afternoon slump!

But come on, these babies could make any part of the day a little brighter!

dinner.

It’s been far too long since I’ve had a smoothie.  You know, like two weeks or something along those lines.  There was no spinach to be found when I did my “just picking up a few things” grocery store run the other night, so no green monster for this girl.  At least not tonight.

Instead, I did a good old fashioned fruit smoothie with strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries with a scoop of vanilla protein powder and a cup of almond milk.  I ended up adding about 3/4 cup of water, too, because my blender just did not want to do it’s thang.  With the water, it was a massive amount of smoothie goodness!

Topped with some vanilla almond granola.  Yum.

There was some unexpected pizza at Anthem tonight – it was the 8th grade night for all the middle schoolers moving up to our youth ministry in the fall.  So, we show them how epic we are by giving them food.  By the time we got it at close to 9 pm, I was crazy hungry again and had two slices of cheese.

When I was 12 years old or so, I hyper-extended my right knee pretty badly while jumping on my neighbor’s trampoline.  Ever since then, I have occasional problems with it.  Since I’ve lost weight, those issues are pretty few and far between.

Apparently, moving was enough to get things going again.  I’ve spent most every night sleeping with an ice pack on it.

By the time morning comes around, I’ve been feeling good.  It’s definitely getting better because it hasn’t been nearly as painful as it was Sunday night.  It’s enough of a reminder of how much I don’t miss the days when it was a persistent thing.
