breaks are healthy.

Have you guys seen The 45 Most Powerful Images of 2011 yet?  If not, stop what you’re doing and go check it out.  They are some of the most stunning, heartbreaking photographs I’ve seen in a really long time.

Can you imagine having one of those “right place, right time” moments and capture these images?  Whoa.  I do think it’s absolutely astounding that we’re seeing all of the end of the year countdowns already.  Seriously December, where’d you come from?!

Yoga was absolutely amazing last night.  I’ve struggled through the last few classes I’ve attended, but I completely felt in the groove.  By the time I went to bed, the combination of not eating enough yesterday and two workouts took it’s toll.  I’ve said it before and I’m sure I’ll make the same mistake again, but I really need to eat enough everyday in general, but especially on the days I’m working out!

I was really intentional this morning about making a good breakfast that would stick with me.  I still am not a huge fan of oatmeal (and I don’t know that I ever will be), but with some peanut butter thrown in there, it really does the trick.  Dark chocolate chips and honey added a little sweetness.

I actually brought a book to work today and got away from my desk for my lunch break.  It felt weird to shake up my routine, but I think in the long run it will do me a world of good.

I found a (relatively) quiet space to read and just enjoy my lunch.  A much needed half hour away from the demands of the office was wonderful, and I returned feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the second half of the day.  A salad and some ridiculously addicting Pretzel Crisps made for a nice little meal.

I was running around like a crazy person after work – I had to quick run home and finish packing because I started a very brief house/dog sitting stint tonight.  Add that into having to actually go let the dogs out and feed them before head to church for Anthem, and it was a bit hectic.   There’s a couple Subways on my way home from work, so I stopped in to grab a sandwich for dinner.

Subway is an amazing food resource when you’re short on time.  Granted, it can be crazy bad for you depending on the sandwich you get, but it can also be a quick, healthy, inexpensive option.  #Winning.

I was literally carrying my sandwich from room to room as I threw together the rest of what I needed to pack.  I must have looked ridiculous, because I sure felt that way.  In retrospect, taking a few minutes to actually sit and eat wouldn’t have been a problem.

I stopped at the gas station on my way to the church.  The “check tire pressure” notice has been on for a few days longer than I should have let it go, so I finally stopped to take care of it.  I thought they all looked okay, but they definitely were far from that.  Oops.  😕

Crazy early morning tomorrow.  If you feel so inclined, send some thoughts and prayers my dad’s way – he’s having a minor surgery.  It’s one of those moments where I have full confidence everything will be fine, but I’m still anxious about it, you know?  I’ve got the day off to be at the hospital – love a day off, hate the circumstances.
