better than the scale.

in Weight Loss

I woke up a little after 6:00 this morning and had a complete freak out moment because I thought the clock said 8, not 6.  After jumping out of bed, I realized that I wasn’t, in fact, late for work.  Whew, panic attack averted!  I never quite fell back asleep, so I was up a bit earlier than normal.

I had far too much cake than one person really needs yesterday; thus, the scale this morning really wasn’t that much of a surprise.  No, I didn’t eat enough cake to cause a big gain, but I know that eating it the day before a weigh in wasn’t good.

last weigh in: 160.8 | this week: 162.4 | change: +1.6 | overall: -70.6

To be honest, though, I’m really okay about it.  Of course, I’d prefer to see the numbers go down, but here’s the thing:  I feel more fit and toned, my clothes are fitting just a little looser, and I have more energy.  To me, all of that is more important than what the scale says!

Since I was up a bit earlier, I had enough time to make a raspberry peach smoothie for breakfast (1 cup each frozen raspberries, frozen peaches, and water, plus a banana and scoop of protein powder).

I’m on a smoothie kick this week!  That was my third!  Smoothies must be a good breakfast for me, though, because I’ve been wicked productive all morning!  I’m really happy with how many things I’ve checked off my to-do list!

I took a mid-morning break for a leftover cake ball.  And, a small piece of red velvet cake…which didn’t last long enough to get back to my desk for a lovely photo op.

Ever since I made English muffin pizzas on Monday, I’ve been itching to make them again!   They just might be my latest and greatest food addiction!  So  simple, yet so tasty!

Nerd alert:  I brought a set of measuring cups to work so I can measure out portions if I don’t end up doing it at home.  True story.

My latest song obsession?  The Glee version of Fleetwood Mac’s “Never Going Back Again”.  I freaking adore Artie!  And, Puck on the guitar?  Yes, please!
