believe you’re worth it.

Yesterday, Caitlin wrote a great post about “On Turning Self-Doubt Into Success” – it’s a great read, so you should go check it out.  I love the very last line:

No matter what, if you just believe in yourself, you’ll end up where you’re supposed to be.

So true, right?  Easier said than done sometimes, the whole believing in yourself part, but I fully think that no matter how much anybody else might believe in you, it means nothing until you believe in yourself.

That really rings true in my weight loss journey.  So many people in my life were encouraging me to make a chance (some in a more kind way than others), but it wasn’t until that I believed in myself, until I believed I could do it, until I believed I was worth it, that I was ready to make that effort.

Anyone who has tried to lose weight, especially a large amount, knows that it’s not an easy road to travel.  It’s hard and frustrating at times.  But, throughout that journey, I found a confidence in myself I never knew I had.   I felt better about myself.  I was am healthier, more active, and much more fit.  But, beyond that, I conquered a battle I thought was a lost cause.  I found worth in who I was and I wanted to live life to the fullest.  I wanted to live the best kind of life and I knew I wasn’t ever going to do that to the extent I wanted at 233 pounds.  I’m not where I want to be yet, but I’m closer than I ever thought possible.

And on that note, how about food?

I had a few extra minutes this morning, so I used up some food I needed to eat up and made an egg and cheese sandwich, with ketchup.

I don’t know about you, but my day has been flying by!  I love days when I’m busy and have a lot to get done – as long as it’s not to the overwhelming, stressed out kind of busy.  Those days are lamesauce.

For lunch, I grabbed an Amy’s Kitchen Santa Fe Enchilada Bowl out of the freezer.  I hadn’t had this particular meal before, but I’ll definitely be getting it again!  It was awesome!

Frozen dinners aren’t something I try to eat too frequently, but every once in a while, they come in handy!  I love the Amy’s brand because I feel like they’re generally a bit healthier than other brands and they emphasize more natural and organic ingredients, they’re all vegetarian, and some are vegan or gluten free as well.  They’re a bit pricier, but I’d rather pay an extra buck or two for a product I believe in!

Also, any day when I have a coffee drink delivered to my desk is a good one!

Just in time, no less!  I was starting to get tired!  And in related news, I think I need a coffee detox.
