almost yoga face planted.

I went to hot yoga for the first time in AGES tonight!  And by ages, I mean like 6 or so weeks.  Far too long, my friends!

I go back and forth on hot yoga. I love the studio, but the drop in price ($16 a class) adds up pretty quickly, but I don’t know that I’d go regularly enough to make a monthly membership ($79/month) worth the investment.  At the same time, part of the reason I don’t go regularly now is because the drop in price adds up.  It all comes full circle, doesn’t it?

It was a tough practice tonight.  Whether or not I go to hot yoga, I’m glad I’ve re-committed to making yoga a regular thing again because being sporadic makes practically every single pose challenging.

My mat got ridiculously sweaty by the time class was halfway done and in the last half, I almost did three face plants because my feet were slipping.  As soon as class was done, I bought a yogitoes mat.

It’s something I’ve been debating about buying for months on end.  Everyone who has one says it will make a world of difference, especially during hot yoga.

We shall see!

I really craved something quick and easy, with a decent amount of protein for dinner.  I bought a carton of eggs on Sunday and I’m trying to use them before they go bad.  This is why I don’t by eggs!  I can’t eat them fast enough!

I had some super addicting apple cinnamon Apple Straws a bit later.  These little guys are crazy good!

Now, I’m drinking an Abita (a brewery near New Orleans! lurve!) beer, relaxing and half paying attention to So You Think You Can Dance?.  It’s not a show I’ve ever gotten into, but Sara’s watching, so it works.  I can see how I could get hooked.  I don’t need another show to get hooked on!

I tried a foundation class at the hothouse and I liked it but it is considerably different than the studio where I’ve been practicing. I felt that without having come from a strong background in alignment I would not have gotten nearly as much out of the class. I’ll still do some drop-ins when I need my butt kicked physically but as far as growth and freedom I’ll stick to a studio where the instructor attention helps facilitate growth from alignment. Cool blog, thanks for sharing.

It was actually Jockamo – Purple Haze is my favorite though!
