all I’ve done today is eat.

I made an epic grilled cheese last night.  It was one of those combinations that was either going to be an epic failure or just epic.  The first thing I said after trying a bite was something along the lines of “this is the best thing EVER!  I could eat this every single day!”.  So, sometimes I might exaggerate.

I took the sharp cheddar and apple combo I knew I already loved, but added a thick smear of the Pumpkin Cheeze Sauce before grilling.

This will definitely happen again.  Probably about as soon as I finish writing this post, even though I’m not really that hungry, but it sounds so good!

Dinner Club was supposed to meet last night, but because of a scheduling snafu, we moved it to breakfast this morning instead.  We met up at Real Food Cafe which had actually been one of the early Dinner Club locations when it was just Andrea and I.

I went with the garden omelet (because it came with avocado!) and a side of English muffin toast.

I really didn’t need to clean my plate because it was too much food to begin with, but even more so because I was having lunch like three hours later.  I still did though.

I had been looking forward to lunch all week!  Kristie, who was one of my roommates at last year‘s Healthy Living Summit, is in town with her husband.  They’re in from Madison for the Grand Rapids Marathon, the 26.2 I was going to run.  She’s doing the full and he’s doing the half!  Good luck, you two!

Since they were going to be in town for the race expo, she asked if I wanted to meet up for lunch and I eagerly said yes!  We went to The Green Well which is always a win in my book!

We all started with a drink.  I had the Short’s Autumn Ale, another new (to me) beer.  I’ve liked most of what I’ve tried from Short’s Brewery, so it felt like a safe bet.

So good!

For my meal, I got the veggie pad thai which I’ve had before and really enjoyed.  It had a bit more of a kick to it this time!

I was still quite full from breakfast, so I barely made a dent in this – yay for leftovers!  I feel like all I’ve done today is eat, but in the company of friends, it’s a beautiful thing.

The rest of my Saturday has actually been pretty chill.  Lots of time curled up on the couch with a warm blanket, a couple of books, and a nap thrown in for good measure – perfect activities for a blustery fall day.

Tigers/Rangers Game 6 tonight!!  Let’s go Tigs!!!  Keep the World Series hope alive!
