addicted to running.

My name is Mindy and I’m addicted to running.

I signed up for another race this morning, the Tulip Time Run 10k in Holland, MI.

I’m now doing five races between now and Memorial Day weekend – three of them in May alone!

  • March 19:  Spectrum Health Irish Jig 5k
  • March 26:  National  Half Marathon
  • May 7:  Tulip Time Run 10k
  • May 14:  River Ban Run 25k (as of now – may drop to the 10k due to other commitments that day)
  • May 28:  Bayshore 10k

Am I nuts for this schedule? I think I might be, but I’m going to have fun giving it my all!  I’ve been spending some time the past couple days working on a training schedule, but I have to get through the National Half before I really think about spring races.

good company.

My migraine from last night is lingering on a bit.  While I was feeling pretty miserable, though, I at least had good company from the pups.  Well, Rosie just looked like she was playing dead (ironically enough, pretty close to how I felt for a bit of the evening!).

But, of course, the camera can’t come out without Norman jumping in to investigate and demanding attention.

I woke up this morning with a bit of the migraine still holding on.  Not bad enough to warrant staying home, but just enough to make work less than pleasant.  Boo to you, migraine.

breakfast.

I stopped at Bagel Beanery for breakfast.  I really just wanted their coffee since what we have at work is pretty weak.  I was hoping the caffeine would take care of the rest of the migraine.  No such luck.  But, since I was there, I grabbed the standard:  salsa pepperjack bagel with veggie cream cheese. I may still have an unhappy head, but at least I’ve got a happy belly.

lunch.

Despite the migraine, it’s been a great day.  The sun is shining!!  Snow is melting!!  Lots of work is getting done!!

I grabbed an Amy’s Tofu Scramble for lunch – the food I’ll have to move is slowly dwindling down.  I know I’m only moving three miles but the less I have to pack, the better!

The meal was good for something out of the freezer.  It was a bit watery, but had decent flavor and it was nice to have a frozen meal that was a change from the usual Mexican or pasta dishes.  I’m pretty sure this is probably intended for a breakfast, but it worked for lunch.

I’m not a huge fan of frozen meals, but they’re great to have on hand for something on the fly.

Do you eat frozen meals?  What’s your favorite?

Love the pups! congrats on signing up for more races– I love races but the ones in Ann Arbor are pricey!

And I would LOVE to do the one in Holland but my boyfriend is graduating that day. I’m still excited that we’re going to be race buddies for the National Half, River Bank Run AND the Bayshore. Go Michigan!

I’m also doing the Spectrum Health Irish Jig with my roommates and the 5/3 10K. I’m excited! I think that’s great that you’re doing all those races! You’re so dedicated 🙂

BTW, I’m originally from Traverse City where the Bayshore is 🙂 I might try to make it up there that weekend to check out the crowds.

Yay, I’m so excited you’re doing those races, that’s awesome!

Can you believe I’ve lived in West Michigan my whole life and I have never been to TC?! The race was a great excuse to get up that way!

My favorite frozen dinner, one I just ate is Amy’s Pesto Cheese Tortellini. Its to die for. Not light on the calories by any means, but gobsmackingly delicious. Cute puppy.
