a puppy and a baby.

When I wrote the title for this post, in my mind I continued on with “a puppy and a baby walk into a bar…”.  I don’t know where that joke would segue to, but there you have it.

Anyways, yesterday just flew right by!

I’ve been doing really well in the whole not stopping for a bagel on my way to work effort, but I’ve had such a craving for the maple apple cheddar season bagel that Bagel Beanery is advertising.  I had a gift certificate to use up, so I stopped.  I had it with some honey brown sugar cream cheese.  So delicious!

The highlight of my day was definitely the morning – I got to play with this cute little puppy!  Blogworld, meet Lexi!  She’s my coworkers new puppy, only three months old!  Isn’t she the cutest thing ever?!

I could have played with her all day long, except the day got even better because I was able to visit my friends Corrie and Matt, who just had a baby over the weekend!  She’s precious and got even more so when she fell asleep in my arms!  A puppy and a baby all in one day?  Yes, please!

I had to run an errand downtown for work and I was walking right by Jimmy John’s to get there!  Oh, shucks.  So, I decided to forgo my exciting lunch of a peanut butter sandwich and stop.  It’s  been at least a couple weeks since I’ve had JJs and it was missed!

I was out and about after work, and wanted something simple and small for dinner once I got home.  I just ended up having a bowl of cereal while watching the tail end of the Tigers game.  I’m not excited about how this series against Texas is going!  If the Tigers are going to make it to the World Series, they have to win the next three (out of three!) games.  No pressure, boys.  They held their own last night until a grand slam home run from the Rangers in extra innings.

It stresses me out far more than it should!

I haven’t been sleeping well at all the past week or so.  Lots of tossing and turning, walking up in the middle of the night (which I almost never do!), and having a terrible time falling asleep.  That last part is normal, but combined with the other two, it’s catching up to me.

Enter:  a latte for breakfast.  Sometimes it’s just what a girl needs to do!  Thanks Biggby!

Today’s lunch was the sandwich I was supposed to have yesterday.  I’m a food funk.  I need some cooking inspiration!

Tonight’s mission:  do some actual cooking so I have “real” food to eat, get to the gym (Powerflex-ing it up!), and figure out a dish for tomorrow’s office potluck.
