Thank God tomorrow is Friday. It’s amazing how a short work week can actually feel longer than the normal five days. I think it’s trying to fit five days of work into four days. Whatever it is, I’m not going to complain about a three-day weekend!
I was pleasantly surprised this morning that I actually lost half a pound. I thought for sure the holiday weekend was going to be bad news bears today. I would love for it to have been more, but half a pound is half a pound. A loss is still a loss! Only 32.5 to go!
I stopped to grab breakfast on the way to work. I got my usual at the bagel place: a salsa pepperjack bagel with low-fat veggie cream cheese.
Lunch was the last of the box of the Morningstar Buffalo Chik’n Wings. I love that thanks to companies like Morningstar and Boca, there are meat alternatives when I want something like wings. I hate, though, all the junk that really goes into them. I was looking at the ingredient list while my lunch was heating up and it was somewhat disheartening. I wish there was an option that was more natural.
Now that I’m getting my workout groove back (finally!), I decided I’m taking two rest days a week. I think it is hugely important to let muscles recover and give the body a break. Personally, I feel like it helps me have better workouts on the days I do exercise and it keeps me from burning out. So, finding that balance is important. Tonight is the first night this week that I don’t have anything going on, so I’m taking today as an off day from the gym to get stuff done around the house. My laundry basket is overflowing!
I spent about ten minutes staring into the fridge, then the freezer, then the cupboard, and back to the fridge trying to decide what sounded good for dinner. Complete indecisiveness. I ended up having a bowl of pineapple and strawberries, and a 1.5 servings of Kashi honey sunshine cereal (not pictured). When in doubt, cereal is almost always my go-to meal.
Time to go finish watching It’s Complicated with my BFF Michelle!
