28 while 28.

On September 6, 2011 I turned 28 years old.  I’ve had the opportunity to do and experience more in this life already than most do in twice as many years.  Yet, I want more!  There is so much to see, do, and experience in this world that I want to make the most of every day, every year, that I am blessed to have on Earth.

I want 28 to be an amazing, life-changing year.  I want to look back and remember this as being a year where I was challenged, grew, learned about the world, and learned about myself.  I feel deep down that 28 will be something special.

  1. read 28 classic books (from BBC’s top 100 list)
  2. read 28 for fun books
  3. lose 28 pounds
  4. run/bike 28 miles a week
  5. run a sub-28:28 5k
  6. hold a plank position for 2.8 minutes (2 minutes, 48 seconds)
  7. make 28 new recipes
  8. try 28 new dishes at my favorite restaurants
  9. spend less than $28 a week eating out
  10. try 28 new foods
  11. try 28 new beers
  12. go without soda for 28 days – check! soda free since September 6!
  13. make a playlist with music from 28 new-to-me artists
  14. make a playlist of 28 songs that never fail to make me smile
  15. memorize 28 Bible verses
  16. journal 28 pages a month
  17. watch 28 Oscar Best Picture films
  18. read 28 poems by well-known poets (Keats, Browning, etc)
  19. send 28 “just because” cards to family and friends
  20. get rid of (donate/sell/recycle/throw away) 28 items each month
  21. add 28 professional clothing items to my wardrobe
  22. donate $28 a month to charity
  23. create 28 pages in my scrapbook
  24. make cookies/baked goods for 28 friends
  25. watch 28 documentaries
  26. answer 28 of the 50 questions that will free your mind
  27. listen to 28 new podcasts
  28. write 28 notes of affirmation to each of the girls I mentor
My two other goals for the year are to complete the 365 project and read through the Bible.
I think 28 is going to be a great journey.
I can’t wait.

I’m just seeing this list now. I love how you worked the number 28 into each item on the list! I have a similar 30 Before 30 list, but wasn’t as creative as you. You can see my list at http://www.livebreathehuzzah.com/30-before-30/
